Bruce Worthy is Christchurch born and bred. He served in the Royal Horse Guards – The Blues (Household Cavalry) from 1959 to 1970 with his three brothers. Part of his service was as a State Trumpeter stationed in Knightsbridge, London, and part of it with the Reconnaissance Armoured side of the Regiment whose home base is Windsor.
He will show film footage with short excerpts of Princess Elizabeth’s wedding Day and Coronation, the Garter Parade at Windsor Castle, State Opening of Parliament, Trooping the Colour on Horse Guards Parade and highlights of the last Royal Tournament held at Earls Court, London in 1999.
